Beautiful and Understandable but AI is not smart
This game sets a really high standard for wonderful 3d rendering of the game pieces. It just feels great to move the discs around. The underlying game logic is pretty fun and I can see myself having a lot of fun playing it with friends. It plays a lot like a complex multi-colored checkers game but with tons of style. Its also pretty simple to learn (like checkers) so you could teach someone to play in a few minutes (though theyll need to play a bit before they know good strategies). If you have friends who like things like this then its a good investment, its a perfect board game for iPad.
There IS a tutorial and it explains the game well, its in the rock with the question mark on it, just scroll past the "news". This could probably be cleaned up to make the tutorial easier to find (other reviewers seem to have missed it entirely!)
The AI is kind of depressing though. I have beaten it every time I played including my first game! I tried the difficulties but theyre really just variants of the game with less moves, and the AI just keeps losing. Maybe Im just a master strategist but I dont think so. Im used to losing a few times before I win a match on a new strategy games like this, so I have a feeling that in this case its the AI that is just not particularly intelligent or strategic.
